SURPRISE! I’ve signed a contract for a RecipeTin cookbook! But this won’t be just another cookbook……This is going to be a cookbook filled with new recipes YOU ask for.
Let’s make this cookbook OURS!

PS That’s just a mock cover!!
Finally – a cookbook!
This is real – a RecipeTin cookbook is happening! I’m committed – I can’t back out, I’ve signed a publishing contract with Pan Macmillan, a big name publishing house here in Australia.
Excited, nervous, daunted, scared…. all these words come to mind as I sit here, preparing myself for what will be the the most important and biggest project I have ever undertaken in my professional life.
Which brings me to the main purpose of sharing this news….
I want to make this cookbook WITH you, FOR you!
Let’s fill these pages with recipes YOU want! Mostly new, but even some favourites from the website!

I’m going to be completely honest with you. I am under no illusion about how much work it will take to make a cookbook.
So for me to make this cookbook for myself, because, well, you know, it is kind of an ego boost to see your name on a printed book. That’s not enough motivation for me. I don’t deserve it! 😂
If, on the other hand, I make it for you…….. now THAT is what I call motivation. That gets me excited. That is what will give me the incentive to give this cookbook everything I’ve got, to make it the best it can be.
I want to make a cookbook that you will actually use all the time, rather than gathering dust on the bookshelf.
So tell me what you want in our cookbook! What type of recipes, even little details like adding nutrition information, storage and make ahead tips, or key dietary notes (like gluten free).
They will mostly be new recipes that are exclusively made for the cookbook though I will also include some long standing reader favourites from the website!
Let’s make this cookbook together. Leave your cookbook wish list in the comments section below!!

PS Reminder – this cover is a fake!! 😂 You know full well I am going to ask for your opinion when choosing the real cover. ❤️

Life of Dozer
I know today’s big announcement is all about me, me, me. But that’s no excuse to skip a Dozer update! Here he is, disrespecting my cookbook already. Or possibly just thinks the photo is real food. It could be either. 🙄

Though he has already expressed he is willing and able to help in any way possible with the cookbook. Thanks Dozer! We all know what your “help” involves….

Nagi, I’m so happy you’re making a cookbook! I’d love to see:
Pastas
Cakes
Squares
Rice dishes
Veggie side dish options
Easy Asian recipes
So exciting!!! Recipes for 2 would be great! Nutrition info always appreciated, and of course some dessert recipes to finish off a great meal!
Omg! Can not wait. Recommend you to everyone I can
This is great I’m delighted that you’re doing this, And full speed ahead! I have written things and it’s a long slog, but so worth it. I think what I like best are your careful explanations In the recipes. Your care and attention shows throughout. I do quite like your emergency dinners, which are so good and so clever! Best wishes!
Fantastic! I’ve been waiting for this.
Noodle dishes (I love so many of yours), the quick ones are wonderful but I would also love to make the actually noodles as well. Doing something different with short ribs rather than braising, especially boneless ones. Spruced up rice dishes. A couple of tray bake dishes that you can throw together and in the oven. I’m a huge fan of snack cakes that I can make in 6” pans since there are only two of us.
Congratulations! We love your blog, looking forward to some new things in the book. As a Sydney expat, your food reminds me of Sydney’s Lebanese, Asian melting pot. The thing that sets your recipes apart is the detailed technique, you improve things I already thought I knew how to cook. All the best with the book – can’t wait
Honestly, if there’s one recipe I wish could be in your cookbook–or any cookbook–it’s a version of the coconut cake my grandma used to make. She never gave me the recipe, she’s gone now, and I have no idea how to recreate it.
It was a very thin yellow cake, maybe an inch high, plain, but topped with untoasted coconut in some sort of syrup that soaked into the cake, making it lovely and moist. So very yummy–I could eat huge pieces of it because they were so thin.
She almost always had one on the kitchen table waiting to be gobbled whenever I’d come over. It’s the only thing I ever remember her making, other than cream of potato soup with added peas and butter.
Yes! All of your recipes need to go in this book! I’ve been hoping for this for so long. Would love a rich lamb casserole dish
Congratulations Nagi! This is super exciting! Can’t wait to pre-order your book. I would love to see menus in your book– not just special occasion menus on 1-2 pages like other cookbooks, but menu suggestions for each recipe (e.g. serve with XX from page X, etc.). And I always loved your recipe notes in your blog (especially substitutions). Finally, having a base recipe with several variations would also be neat.
Meat pies and scotch broth.
All of your recipes are fab so my request is perhaps for some cooking options for the recipes ie pressure cooker, slow cooker, thermo cooker etc
So exciting! Please include a lot of your amazing salads and LOTS of recipes that can be made vegetarian/pescatarian!
Oh how fantastic!!! My cookbook is just print outs of your recipes!! Lol There’s so many to choose from!! My faves are the Lentil curry & soup, Chickpea Curry, Peri peri Chicken Burger, Parmesan crusted potatoes, Mexican chicken fajitas, and any of your delicious salads! And of course there are 100’s others so we will be happy with anything you choose!!
Congrats!! 🎉 I’d love your take on a quick and easy hainanese chicken rice recipe please! The full shebang is always a bit daunting so I rarely make it even though it’s my deep love comfort meal..

Hi Nagi, I’m really excited about this cookbook you’re putting together for us. Many of your recipes have become firm family favourites, and I’ve learned many great skills from following your recipes over the years. What I would really love to see featured are more complete feasts for special occasions and dinner parties, such as your wonderful Spanish and Christmas ones, with entrees, mains and desserts that complement each other. But really, additional cross referencing of recipes would help to put an awesome menu together. Can’t wait to get my hands on this cookbook!
